🌞 Empowering Coastal Communities with Solar Innovation 🌊 Milestone MoU Between NISE and CSEE 📅 30th July 2025 On 30th July 2025, a significant milestone was achieved as the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) and the Center for Sustainable Environment and Education (CSEE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaboratively develop and implement solar-powered propulsion systems for small-scale fishing boats. This partnership marks a crucial step in India’s journey towards clean energy adoption in marine sectors and sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities. The collaboration will focus on several key areas, including the design and development of eco-friendly solar propulsion systems, retrofitting and fabrication of fishing boats for pilot-scale application, and field testing for performance optimization. Additionally, capacity-building programs will be conducted to equip local fishers with the technical knowledge and skills needed to operate and maintain these solar-powered systems. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce dependency on diesel fuel in small-scale marine operations, thereby lowering carbon emissions and operational costs. It also aims to accelerate the mainstream adoption of renewable energy in India’s fisheries sector while strengthening the livelihoods of those who depend on the ocean. Importantly, this effort supports India’s broader Renewable Energy Goals and aligns with its Blue Economy Strategy, promoting clean, affordable, and sustainable marine transportation. Special thanks are extended to the dedicated teams at NISE and CSEE, and to key contributors including Dr. Darga Shaik, Founder President of CSEE; Dr. K. Anand Raju, Co-founder and Vice President; Dr. Mohammad Rihan, Director General of National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) ; as well as Chandan Banerjee, Arup Dhar, and all supporting partners who have played a pivotal role in driving this vision forward. Together, we envision a cleaner, greener, and more self-reliant future for coastal India—powered by innovation, sustained by communities, and guided by a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and energy transformation.

2nd All India State Water Ministers’ Conference 2025 – A Step Towards a Water Secure Nation The 2nd All India State Water Ministers’ Conference 2025, themed "India@2047 – A Water Secure Nation," was successfully held on 18th – 19th February 2025 in Udaipur, Rajasthan, organized by the National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti. The conference served as a crucial platform for policymakers, experts, and leaders to discuss strategies for water governance, conservation, and sustainable water management to ensure India’s long-term water security. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan and was graced by Shri C.R. Patil, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, along with Shri Raj Bhushan Chowdhury, Hon'ble Minister of State for Jal Shakti, and 26 Cabinet Ministers from various States and Union Territories. Dr. Vivek K. Sengar, Regional Head of the Center for Sustainable Environment and Education (CSEE), participated alongside Shri Swatantra Dev Singh, Hon'ble Minister of Water Resources, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, contributing valuable insights on sustainable water resource management.

Patil, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, along with Shri Raj Bhushan Chowdhury, Hon'ble Minister of State for Jal Shakti, and 26 Cabinet Ministers from various States and Union Territories. Dr. Vivek K.
